Artist Biography – Lawrence Pardee (known professionally as PardeeBoi DNB)  Lawrence Pardee, better known as PardeeBoi DNB, began his musical journey in the early 2000s, experimenting with a wide range of genres before discovering his true sound. At just 16 years old, he downloaded FL Studio 6 and instantly became captivated by the possibilities of music production. What started as curiosity quickly became obsession—he was building hip-hop beats, layering vocals, incorporating live instruments, and constantly exploring experimental sounds.  This relentless pursuit of sonic exploration led PardeeBoi to a pivotal moment in 2012, when he fell in love with the energy, speed, and technical brilliance of drum and bass. That discovery shifted his entire creative direction. He immersed himself in the culture, studying its roots, its underground movements—including the vibrant Detroit underground music scene—and its ability to merge chaos with precision. By 2014, PardeeBoi had expanded into DJing, bringing his deep love of DnB to live audiences. His sets became known for their high energy and seamless blends, reflecting both his technical skill and his passion for the craft.  While honing his style, PardeeBoi built a reputation as a versatile producer with a unique ear for rhythm and texture. His catalog grew, spanning gritty underground bangers to atmospheric, melodic compositions that showcased his range as both a DJ and a producer. But his story—and sound—took on new depth in 2019, when he crossed paths with Detroit rapper JJ Jet.  The two met just months before the pandemic, and what began as a simple collaboration soon grew into a powerful creative partnership and brotherhood. Both had survived turbulent upbringings and personal battles, and both viewed music as a lifeline. Where JJ Jet brought raw lyricism shaped by life in the foster system, incarceration, and fatherhood, PardeeBoi provided the hard-hitting, intricate production that elevated those stories into something larger than life. Their chemistry was undeniable, and together they forged a sound that blended conscious hip-hop with the relentless pulse of drum and bass.  When the pandemic hit in 2020, rather than slow down, PardeeBoi and JJ Jet doubled down. Isolation became fuel for creation. PardeeBoi refined his production skills even further, experimenting with layering live instruments into his electronic work, while JJ Jet sharpened his voice as both an artist and advocate. Out of that season emerged a collaborative force driven by resilience, authenticity, and a refusal to be silenced.  Today, PardeeBoi DNB continues to push boundaries while staying true to his roots. With an ever-expanding catalog of drum and bass productions, a reputation for explosive live performances, and a global outlook, he is stepping firmly onto the international stage. Together with JJ Jet, he is not only creating music but building a movement—one that embodies survival, redemption, and the transformative power of sound.

JJ Jet – From the System to the Spotlight

Born in the heart of Detroit, Michigan, JJ Jet’s life began with hardship. Taken into foster care at birth, he spent the majority of his childhood bouncing around the Michigan foster care system. Each move was another disruption, another challenge, and another chance to be forgotten.

At 17, while attending Lincoln High School, JJ became a father. Balancing teenage fatherhood with school, multiple jobs, and the crushing weight of survival, he narrowly graduated—determined not to give up on himself or his son. Despite his best efforts, systemic obstacles, parental alienation from his son, and the brutal reality of poverty pushed him toward desperation. He became involved in a series of criminal activities and substance abuse that led to nearly a decade spent in the judicial system fighting ongoing legal battles, incarceration, and high-conflict custody battles.

These years were marked by deep emotional and financial instability. At times, JJ was homeless—sometimes couch-surfing, other times sleeping on the floor by the front door of friends' homes due to lack of space. Yet, amidst the chaos, something inside him stirred.

During this period, JJ began making music—building home studios in friends' basements and started using it as both a lifeline and a mirror, eventually leading him to an education in sound production and working towards becoming a mogul as a sound recording and mastering engineer. Music gave him a voice, and through it, he began to heal. He started writing not just lyrics, but the next chapters of his life, tapping into the essence of Detroit hip hop.

JJ Jet eventually snapped out of what he now calls “the illusion of failure and success”—the trap that keeps many stuck in cycles of survival. He turned inward, seeking truth, purpose, and enlightenment. He began building businesses, investing in himself, and working relentlessly to break free from the narrative that the system had written for him.

Now a fierce advocate in the parental rights movement, JJ Jet uses his voice, his story, and his platform to fight for fathers, for foster youth, and for those society has cast aside. He’s not just beating the odds—he’s redefining them.

Today, JJ Jet lives a life of peace and purpose. He is not only a rising Detroit artist and producer within the Detroit underground music scene with raw authenticity and grit in his sound, but he is also a proud and dedicated father, a creator, a businessman, and a warrior for justice—proof that where you come from doesn’t have to define where you’re going. His journey is not just one of survival, but of transformation.

Now, JJ Jet is emerging not just as a powerful independent artist pumping out original drum and bass tracks but also performing alongside PardeeBoi DNB. He continues to use his voice to uplift those silenced by the system. His raw, autobiographical sound blends street reality with spiritual growth, creating music that resonates with authenticity and hope.
